Here's where the fun begins! By adding a spidersknit.org button to your website, you automatically bring a little color and fun to your site! Below you'll find a small collection of buttons that you can download, save to your own website, and then link back to spidersknit.org.
Right-click (PC) or control-click (MAC) on the button that you like and then "save target as..." or "save image as..." to your desktop, upload to your website, and then use the code under these buttons as an example to link to spidersknit.
<a href="http://www.spidersknit.org"><img src="btn_spidersknit_blue.gif" title="spidersknit.org" border="0" /><a>
Please note that our linking policy has changed and that we now require reciprocal linking. This means that if we link to you, you should link back to us, whether it's a text link or a button on your site. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Web RingThe spidersknit webring is an optional feature of spidersknit.org. It's a chance for you to be a part of an online knitting community and drive more traffic to your website. The webring is only available to people who have become members of spidersknit, so please apply to be a member first before trying to submit your site. The webring is run by RingSurf and is a scripted list of all the spiders who have websites/blogs about their knitting. RingSurf provides a small amount of code that you put on your website and it gives readers of your site the opportunity to surf to other members of the ring.
To be a member of this ring:
- You must be at least a spidersknit: member.
- You must have a knitting blog, where you talk about knitting. Other topics can be discussed as well, but knitting must be one of them.
- You must post regularly (once a week).
- The ring code must be correct and must be visible on the page where your blog is located.
- You are responsible for making chages to your blog information (new url, new email, new blog name).
When joining the ring:
- You have one week from the time you submit your site to get your ring code up and running correctly.
- You will receive a message from RingSurf with your Ring Code and Ring ID. Please keep this message or your records!
The webring is an optional service of spidersknit. You can be a spider and not be a member of the ring but you must fulfill the above criteria in order to a part of the ring. Those not meeting the criteria will be removed from the ring but not spidersknit (you can be removed from spidersknit at your request. please contact the admin if you so choose.)
Wanna join? Go to RingSurf to submit your site (if you are already a spider) and get the code. Once the RingSurf system has determined that the code is on your website, your site will be added to the list!
